Antonello Salis – piano, accordion
Sandro Satta - saxophone
Antonello Salis, originally from Sardinia, learned to play the accordion when he was 7 years-old and began his career in rock bands playing the hammond organ. He later crossed paths with nearly all the great Italian musicians, such as Massimo Urbani, Enrico Rava and Paolo Fresu, but also played concerts with international power houses like Lester Bowie, Don Cherry, Don Pullen, Nana Vasconcelos, and Pat Metheny just to name a few.
His duo with saxophonist Sandro Satta looks back on a history spanning over 30 years. The two seamlessly merge the traditional with the avant garde. In their suite-like sets, folk and blues elements are repeatedly interwoven with free-tonal passages.
